April 2nd was recognized worldwide as Autism Awareness day. About 1 in 68 people have autism. Everyone is encouraged to take measures not only throughout the day on April 2nd but every day of the year. Autism awareness day was invented by Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned. The day started in February of 2005 and was passed by council (What council?) November 1st, 2007. Why is autism awareness day a thing you ask? One main goal is to raise awareness and to highlight the need to help improve the quality of life for those with autism. Doing so helps those have happy and meaningful lives. You can help by educating yourself on the topic. At the bottom of the article are a few links to help you understand. Other ways to help are just by being an advocate, standing up for anyone when needed, and speaking up for those who cannot. Stop others from putting others down. Make everyone feel welcome, and treat everyone with respect.
